About CAAP

CAAP (Cayasco Academic Achievement Program) is a program dedicated to empowering young adults to work collectively, use technology and solve community issues. The students are encouraged to use their academic skills in creative ways that will benefit their community. This program serves middle and high school students from the Greater Hartford area. This year’s objectives include helping organizations from the community gain presence on the internet. During this process, students learn project management, interview, writing, and computer science skills. The students enrolled in our program are young people with a sense of social responsibility. Working together as a community will reinforce our student’s confidence and build stronger leaders for our future.

2006 Program Empowering youths...

A team of youths dedicated a portion of their summer to serving non-profit organizations within their communities. They underwent training in designing websites through Cayasco Academic Achievement Program or (CAAP) Summer Program hosted by Capital Community College and presented by CAYASCO. These 6th-10th graders completed this fast pace demanding course within a short period of time and were able to successfully design websites for the two volunteered organizations. read article
